Last years ‘Chiefs Challenge’ was held at the Albert Dock. The winning team was the ‘Merseyside Police Junior Cadet team’. They went on to represent the Merseyside Police Force at the British Dragon Boat Racing Association National League Dragon Boat Race held at the Liverpool Water Sports Centre on Sunday, 17 September 2006. During this event they proved successful enough to win themselves a place in the National Dragon Boat Finals at Nottingham. After some further training by Amathus, the UK’s top Dragon Boat Club who are based in Liverpool, the cadets had a very successful event and were excellent ambassadors for the Police Cadets and the North West.
