Calday Grange Grammar School and the Rotary Club of Mid Wirral
In aid of Bob Champion’s Cancer Charity.
Please see the race report in our Results section!
Please come and join us on Saturday 26th April 2008 for the first ever Dragon Boat challenge to be held on the West Kirby Marine Lake.
The event is being jointly staged by Calday Grange Grammar School and the Rotary Club of Mid Wirral, who have teamed up with professional Dragon Boat event organiser 4 Dragons Ltd.
Calday, one of the Northwest’s leading boys’ grammar schools, has chosen to support Bob Champion’s Cancer Charity, one of the few charities supporting research into male cancer, and the event will also benefit other local good causes.
We hope that your company, colleagues, family and friends will be able to extend their support to us, and in doing so make this a really successful event for the charities.
Dragon Boat Racing has established itself as the UK's favourite mass participation water sport so if you have not tried it yet - now is your chance! No previous experience or level of fitness is required and all age groups, including mixed gender crews can take part. What we need you to do is gather a team of people from your organisation to crew a boat to have a fantastic fun filled day racing other North West based organisations. So, whether you can part fill or fill a boat with a minimum of 12 and maximum of 16 people, or are even willing to team up with others on the day, we can guarantee you a day to remember - so get a group of people together and join the fun!
The cost of organising the event is being covered by the crew’s entry fee, with individual sponsorship and any surplus being donated to the charities. The entry fee is generally £275 per crew but as an incentive for early entries, crews entering before 31st December will be given a £50 discount.
Further sponsorship/donation will be greatly welcomed and there will be a prize presented to the organisation which raises the most sponsorship or makes the largest donation.
The number of teams is limited so please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to take part or require any further information. Please contact Peter Joyce pmjoyce@btinternet.com
